Catch-up - again

We've been to Owenton in the past week, Bodie's had his wisdom teeth removed, and we just got back from a quick trip to Charlotte this weekend to see the Lilley Family (800 miles in under 30 hours!). Needless to say we are all a little exhausted, slightly cranky and ready for bed!

Just call me Betty Sue

Betty Sue Homemaker that is!

This is all of my hard work this weekend...

The kitchen full of it's dehydrator, crock pot, food processor, cutting board, strainers, and all of the fruit you could shake a stick at....

My fruit leather drying in the oven, the apple/pear blend turned out nicely - grape one, yeah that ended up in the trash!

The 3 loaves of bread I baked first thing Sat. morning, which have gone over beautifully with everyone!

And the 11 (should have been 12 but I dropped one on the floor, oops!) jars of apple butter I made Thurs. night....

Plus, Rose isn't even out of diapers and do you see this girl working the Swiffer! If only potty training was this much fun!

Plus we got our compost bin up and going, now if I can jsut get the right mix in there...I've been researching I hope I don't screw it up!

Saturday to do list:
Bake Bread - check
Make fruit leathers - check
Dry fruit - check
Apple Crisp - check, extra yummy, but needs cinnamon
Compost bin - check
Cleaning - (nothing)
Laundry - check, thank you Bodie!
Yard mowed - check, Thank you Bodie!

Sunday to do list:
Clean - does the basement count? I did get it cleaned and organized - woo hoo! But I'm so avoiding the kitchen and rest of the house, that's funny considering I just cleaned it a week ago!

We broke down and got some take out pizza and wings Thurs. night instead of making it at home, mainly b/c I wanted wings and was exhausted when we finally started to head home at 6:30. It was only $14 something, but the more I thought about it I was so irritated with my self because I could have made it all at home for like $5, oh well! Bodie says sometimes it is worth the "convenience fee" - my jury is still out on that....But Rose was cute with her wings!

I think we have now officially visited every park in Richmond! Rose loves the park and you talk about about a fight when the adults are ready to go home..Here are some pictures..

Finally a decent picture of me and my girl...

Apples and Grapes and Pears - OH MY!

So we've been very busy this weekend. Today after church we put out the rest of our Apple moth trap then went by Grandma's for some fresh fruit goodness....I never imagined all that I would end up with..

Lonnie and I got out the picker and went to town and that doesn't even touch what's still on the tree!

I think I'm going to try and make some fruit rollups and dry the fruits more than anything, mainly because I don't know anything about making jellies. However I would love to try and make some apple butter....mmmmm, that just sounds yummy!

Ok, so to back track to Friday we went to the Central vs. Southern game (we spanked them by the way!!! Go Indians!!). But before the game we had some extra time so we went by the park so Bodie could see how much fun Rose is starting to have

Yesterday Rose and I worked the Pottery Festival then went to Lexington to set out the rest of those traps (extra moolah...whoo hoo!). We did manage to stop in at Cold Stone for a little mommy and me ice cream time!

Today Bodie and I took her back to the Pottery Festival/Kid's Fest where she loved the Petting Zoo, hated the Giant Frische's Big Boy, played Plinko, went fishing, swinging and then kissed every animal goodbye...it was a hoot!

P.s. Have I mentioned lately that I think I married Super Dad? You should have seen him today at the pottery fest, he got us some lemonade and I took Rose on to go swing. He came walking up with the two lemonades, diaper bag on shoulder, and camera around neck - I told him he had officially crossed over to "Daddy world!"

I was so happy to get to spend the day with my wonderful husband, he has been working so hard lately in order to help us get ahead and I don't think he knows sometimes how much Rose and I both truly appreciate it! WE LOVE YOU DADDY!!!!

Bread making and Rose

I've tried for several months to find the time to bake some of Kelly's bread but to no avail. However, I made myself do ALL the prep work this week and tonight I baked my first batch. We haven't cut into it yet, but it looks great and has smelled soooo yummy!!!

Rose has this thing she does where when we put on her glasses we say "Cool Chick" and throw up your hands like the Fonz! It's hilarious!

She's been getting in trouble quit a bit at daycare scratching the other children....After talking with her teachers today, I think she is trying to pick their noses! I don't know what we are going to do with her!

Go, go, go

It seems like that is all we have done this week! Bodie and I have been working in the evenings down at the nursery for Dad and then I've had several meetings for the church, dinner out with the family one night, and it just seems like we haven't hardly taken a breather! But yesterday I did get a chance to clean the house before family came for dinner last night. And I must say I'm rather impresseed with myself! There is one problem spot in the kitchen and then the clothing volcano in the guest room, but other than that the house is pretty clean!!!

Bodie had to work this morning for a little extra overtime, but should be home around lunch time.

We are asking for some prayers about directions we should take...we've gone on our budget and are working it. But we are looking at getting Bodie on at my job if possible. Pro's : money - he'd make more than double what he is now, hours - 7-3:30, overtime if he wants to, Con's - he is told that he will get promoted next June at EKU (however, they've told him lots of things since he's started and very few of them actually worked out the way we were told) and he enjoys his job for the most part, Lexington - he would more than likely be in Lexington and there are no guarantees that I wouldn't be moved there too, so it would take 1 of us around 30-45 minutes to get back to Richmond if Rose was sick. Why are we thinking about this you ask? Mainly because we would like to have another child and that comes with atleast another $800/mth. that we don't see that we could afford anytime soon, not to mention the ability to pay of debt. We are going to be praying about it and ask for prayers, because if it is meant to happen then it will, if it's not, then God has a better plan ahead for us.
