Riding out the storm....
Well we have made it through the first big ice storm of 2009 and the Snell Refugee camp has finally cleared out. Bodie and I decided that if there ever was a good year for us to have bought our own home, we were sure glad it was this year. I think we got roughly about an inch to inch and half of ice this past week with some snow over top. Bodie worked almost round the clock Monday through Wednesday at EKU trying to help keep the campus accessible and ready for the crowds for the All-A Classic. I was off work Tues-Thurs b/c there was no electricity at our office. Tues our electric was out here out our house and at mom and dad's so we headed to Grandma's. It was a good idea until her's went out too...so we all packed it back up and went to mom and dad's thinking that would be the best location. Luckily, our electric here at the house came back on that night and we moved the camp to our humble abode. Mom, Dad, Grandma and Aunt Molly were all in and out and we were certainly glad to have them! But now, the sun has been out, things are starting to melt and everyone has electric (at least of our small group, however there are still thousands in KY and even central KY without it) so our house is back to just the 3 of us. We are crossing our fingers that we will get missed by this supposed big storm moving in Monday but I guess we will have to wait and see.....

Happy Birthday Rose!
We have spent the past week getting ready to have our house turned upside down for Miss Priss' 2nd birthday party! We had about 30 people there and loved every minute of it! She had tons of friends and family who were there and our house has never looked better! Rose had soooo much fun, got too much stuff (although we are so very thankful to everyone!), and we had a blast getting to catch up with all of our friends too...Below are some pictures and I will try to post a video - but we will see how that goes!

Sorry I haven't posted lately, early to rise and early to bed so I'm lucky if I check my email! I've entered into month 3-4 and sickness is kicking in full force...next doc's appointment is in a week and we will find out sex 1st of March...
Also some pictures from Christmas...yeah, I'm running behind. Welcome to my world.

Yuck!
Well, Rose has been sick since Tuesday, I started feeling bad yesterday and Mom and Dad started feeling bad today! Fun! Fun! So Bodie is on his way to Owenton because it is opening weekend of modern gun deer season (a national holiday in our house in case you were wondering!) and Miss Rose and I are staying here at home. I probably would have relaxed a lot more at MawMaw's but I hate to go up there and possibly get everyone else sick - especially if I don't know if I'm contagious. So we'll keep it close here and just take it easy (yeah right!) I have a feeling there will be lots of Wiggles watched! BTW, we ended up getting tickets to go see them next week - I think I'm more excited than Rose!

So we had a shower for our friends Maureen and Kevin last Sunday and had a blast. I think the best was watching the men try to suck chocolate milk out of a bottle for the Bottoms Up game....

We tried to take some family pics at the park this week, but the battery died on the camera....so not very many pics of us, but I did get some of Rose and some nature scenes (which is one of my favorite things to shoot anyways!).

Pizza Night!`
Last night we had pizza night here at the house and had a couple friends over. We have been trying to cut down on our spending, while at the same time not give up hanging out with our friends. So we made pizzas here at home instead of buying them (Betty Crocker, I know!). I found the recipe on someone else's blog (I'm bad at remembering if I don't right it down, I think it was Money Saving Mom) and then tweaked it a little for my own tastes. It's not quite right yet for me, but everyone thought it was a good start!Pizza dough1 TBSP active dry yeast1 cup warm water1 tsp. garlic salt2 tsp. sugar2 tsp. veggie oil2 1/2 cups flourDissolve yeast in warm water - add other ingredients. Mix. Then knead on floured surface for about 5 minutes. Then spread out on greased pizza pan. Put in/on pizza toppings and bake for 12-16 minutes on 450 degrees. On two of the pizzas last night we put some mozzeralla cheese along the edge then folded the crust over to make a "stuffed crust" - I love Pizza Hut's Stuffed Crust pizza! It turned out well, but not cheezey enough for me...so I will try more next time. I had a smaller pizza pan, so my crust ended up being more of a thick crust. But I just got asked for my recipe so I must have done something right! There again, next time...I might put more garlic salt in...b/c we love garlic. I'll let you know!
